UNFORGETTABLE PERU ADVENTURE: SALKANTAY TRAIL

Peru, how we loved you! This South American country is magnificent, ancient, welcoming, and rich in its people and traditions. Hiking the Salkantay Trail was challenging, emotional, spiritual, and utterly life affirming. Here is a photo diary of our adventure.

CHANNEL ISLANDS SEA CAVE KAYAKING & HIKING

This summer, I was on my own and joined a sea cave kayak tour around Santa Cruz Island in the eco-reserved Channel Islands off the coast of Ventura, California. The whole day was phenomenal. There were numerous pods of hundreds of dolphins jumping on the ferry ride over: I’ve never seen anything like it. TheContinue reading “CHANNEL ISLANDS SEA CAVE KAYAKING & HIKING”

GHANA: EYE-OPENING & LIFE-CHANGING

How do you describe Ghana? The sharp juxtaposition of barefooted people softly eking out a living in the rural villages of the Volta Region to the diesel choked throngs of humanity clogging the roadsides of the capital, Accra? From the acrid smell of smoked fish and urine to the sweet juice of a coconut justContinue reading “GHANA: EYE-OPENING & LIFE-CHANGING”

From June 8 to 13, 2019, the Tredsup sistas hit Moab, Utah hard on a multi-sport trip that featured hiking, rafting,Continue reading “MULTI-SPORT MOAB”

High School Ski-union

36 years: that’s how long we’ve been girlfriends (some longer!) This weekend, we headed to Karen’s parents’ maple syrup farm for games, tunes, good food and cross country skiing and snowshoeing. As my dad — a sailor — says, “It was blown’ stink” on Friday, with 80 km winds and whiteout conditions. But behind theContinue reading “High School Ski-union”

FRANCE: Provence & Cote D’Azur

In October ’18, my friend Louise and I were lucky enough to visit Paris and the south of France. A photo diary: Musée du Louvre and Musée D’Orsay Beautiful doors Cap Ferrat — an incredible 11 km hike around the entire cape St. Paul de Vence and cool Jan Fabre exhibit at Fondation de MaeghtContinue reading “FRANCE: Provence & Cote D’Azur”

Banff Hiking Photo Diary 2018

This is a favourite pic. The lakes are bright blue due to glacial silt. Canada, in all her majesty… The seracs, which are blocks of glacial ice which are formed by intersecting crevasses on a glacier, posed a threat so we gave them a wide berth.
